Yes, I realize that Christmas was 6 weeks ago, but who doesn’t love a little Christmas in February?? If you missed Christmas - Part 1 you can find it here.
After having breakfast in Camp Sherman on the morning of the 24th we headed for home. Unfortunately this drive took a bit longer (about 6 1/2 hours) but the girls still did really well so we didn’t have much to complain about.
We made it home in time to get the car unloaded and give the girls a quick nap - then we were off to my grandparents for dinner and presents.
After the girls got to open some presents we headed back home since Erik and I had a long night of toy assembly ahead of us! After we got the girls ready for bed we read The Night Before Christmas and then set out milk and cookies for Santa.
Once the girls were tucked in and sound asleep we got to work on Addison’s train set (with a million little pieces!) and we got the living room all set up with gifts :)
On Christmas morning the girls were good to us…sleeping until 8:30! After they woke up our first stop was the family room to open stockings!
Then it was off to see what goodies Santa brought…
After opening the presents under the tree Addison got to go into the playroom to see her BIG gift from Santa.
The girls got a little time to play before Grandma and Grandpa came with a HUGE carload of presents! After presents we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of eggs benedict, English bangers, Irish soda bread, kiwi & banana salad, and mimosas! Then we started prepping for Christmas dinner (we hosted for 18 people this year).
On the 26th we got to celebrate again with Tricia and David at their new house. Of course this meant MORE presents for the girls!
Addison got her very first digital camera, which was a HUGE hit!
We were very blessed this year and really enjoyed being able to spend time with so much of our family during the holidays. This year was extra exciting since Addison really “got” what Christmas was all about. We can hardly wait for the holidays to be here again… ;)
