August - Part 1

The month of August was another busy one for our family!  At the beginning of the month we celebrated Oliver’s 1st birthday!  Oliver is the son of Amanda & Tracey Westendorf…our good friends who also set us up on our first (blind) date.  DSC07597DSC07600

Addison had tons of fun playing with Oliver and Paloma…and especially loved riding around on Oliver’s toy truck!

The rest of the month was filled with lots of fun trips to the park and play dates with friends!  Here are some pictures of the fun we had in August.

First, my parents discovered Addison’s love of corn on the cob!  Notice she has one on her plate too - and she ate every last bit of BOTH ears!DSC07575

Next up, a trip to the park with the Quinlans.

Sophie’s Baptism

We started off August with a wonderful celebration of Sophie’s baptism into the Catholic church.  The baptism was held at St. George Church where Addison was baptized and where my mom worked for many years.  It was wonderful to celebrate somewhere with so much meaning to our family.

Following mass we headed back to our home (along with 50 family & friends) for lunch and more celebrating.  Of course we managed to sneak in some hydro racing too since it was Seafair Sunday :)DSC07558DSC07557

Before long Addison was out of her party dress and into her swimsuit for an afternoon in the pool!

Sophie, on the other hand, spent the afternoon snuggling with Auntie Tricia.

And playing with Grandpa too…DSC07573

We were so blessed to spend such a special day with our wonderful family and friends.

More July fun

Yes, I realize that it’s now September and I’m still updating about July but I’m trying my hardest to get caught up!!!

For anyone who grew up in Kent, the middle of July is synonymous with Kent Cornucopia Days.  This year Erik was golfing so I headed down with my sister and the two girls to meet up with my parents for the day.  While we were there we checked out all the booths and Addison got to see the fire trucks, which she absolutely loved!DSC07409 Oh…the things you do when you become a parent :)

The following week we spent a day with some friends at the KidsQuest Children’s Museum in Factoria.  This was a great location for toddlers…Addison had so much fun!

The last weekend in July we had a BBQ with the Parkers.  It had been a while since we’d all been together and it was CRAZY to see how big Miss Vera was getting!  I can’t believe she’ll be 1 in just two months.
